Hosted by Northampton Schoolboy Moto X Club
Michael was riding for the NORTHEAST NEMXC team. No. 38 in the 65cc class. we arrived friday tea time with the daylight fadeing fast we walked the track. It was hardpack huge with a whoops section, doubles, triples, massive tabletops and jumps, basically it had everything you could wish for.The aim for the team was to finish the two days with the least points as the points reflected your finishing position in each race , with a massive 50 points for DNF OR DNS.
25/9/04 Day (1)

1st race 21st - 21 points. Hmm Sack the mechanic it seems i left Michaels tyres too hard after changing them and having to pump them to full so they would pop on the rims but i forgot to set the correct pressures and it also rained for this race so it was like an ice rink for Michael. SORRY SON :)

2nd race 6th - 6 points. All was great for the remaining races.
we would like to Congratulate all the fellow team riders on a job well done and fellow 65 team mates Ryan Gregg and Damien Farrell.

West Cumbria M.C. Dean Cross, Lamplugh, Cumbria Round (3)
After another bottom end rebuild and running in my KX. Yet again
the West Cumbria M.C. Hosted another excellent event, even though the weather tried its best to spoil things for the club and all competitors. with galeforce winds, also heavy showers on Saturday night and also Sunday morning.
But nothing it seems was going to to stop this event going ahead, the order of the day was small to large. The 65s started the days practise sessions off with a some what slippy start , the bigger bikes followed and after all the practise the sun appeared Yeah! the days racing got underway.

1st race 1st - 45 points - Holeshot!
This was a really tough first race for the 65s, with lots falling, but by the end the track was starting to dry out great.
2nd race 1st - 45 points - Holeshot!
Conditions were much better for this race and the pace of the competitors proved it.
Thanks to Gary Spencer for the tyre change.
3rd race 1st - 45 points - Holeshot!
Track was perfect for this last race which provided some great racing from Robert Shuttleworth, Thomas Miller, Ryan Greg and Philip Tilly.
Great !!!

Great Salkeld,Penrith. Round (5)
Well here we go again with heavy rain during the night which did the track a lot of good. But then our bike blew the bottom end again in the second lap of practise same as the last event at Brampton. Things where looking bad then Michael spoke with Daniel Hutchinson and his dad who agreed to lend Michael a KTM so it was a quick word with the officials and an X on the numbers all was ready for the days racing.

1st race 2nd - 42 points.
2nd race 2nd - 42 points.
3rd race 2nd - 42 points.
Wow these KTMs are a great fast and easy to ride bike, i really took to it even though it was my first ever time on one, Hmm Could the future really be orange ?
we are currently waiting for a diagnosis of the reoccurring fault on my kx65, until then the future could be Orange.

Massive Thanks to Dennis, Daniel and Michelle Hutchinson for your help and lend of the bike.
Also thanks to Thomas Millers dad and Johnny Green.
Cheers from us all.

NEMXC Round (5)
Wooley Grange, Tow Law.
Arrived saturday tea time, Paddock was fine so we walked the track to find it flooded in the usual places. Drainage channels had been made and the water was slowly draining so it was back to the van for our food and some fun before my bed time.
Woke early sunday to find the track in the same condition luckily it did not rain during the night. So the race order for the day was big bikes out first and soon the track was sorted.
We had a few showers which got heavier as the afternoon went by.

1st race 2nd - 42 points - Holeshot!
2nd race 2nd - 42 points - Bad start bike bogged out the gate.
3rd race 1st - 45 points - Holeshot! My first Win in a race Yippeeee

Low Gelt, Brampton. Round (4)

1st race 22nd - 19 points (void)
2nd race 3rd - 40 points
3rd race 3rd - 40 points

Well its been a strange weekends racing at Low Gelt after a last minute change of which meeting to attend, Originally we planned to race at the Northeast MXC but after looking at the weather for the weekend and also viewing the new track at Edmonsley, Co Durham we decided to err on the side of caution and go to Brampton instead.
We arrived 8:30 pm saturday night after some real heavy rain on the way to the track.
The sun was out which was a great surprise but it didnt last long and a few light showers fell during the night.
Sunday we woke to a great day the sun was out and things looked good for the days racing but during the last lap of practise the main bearings went on the finish hill.
We had no spare bike and were about to pack up and leave for home, then my dad spoke with Paul Scott of PS Racing who agreed to lend us his sons, Lewis spare bike BIG, BIG THANKS you saved our day.

But by now the race had started and most riders were about to complete the 1st lap, Michael joined the race in last place after we had swapped wheels and rear shock from his bike. Thanks to Jeff Tait and Jason Knight for all there help.
But due to confusing information he had entered at the wrong place so this meant all points from the 1st race void.

12th out of 28 racing 80 points in total.

THANKS AGAIN TO PAUL SCOTT AND LEWIS OF PS RACING.

34TH EVENT.

Great Salkeld, Penrith. Round (4)
well the Cumbrian weather gave us a scare again on saturday night with quite a few showers.
Morning broke and we walked the track to find it in perfect condition.
This place can soak the rain up as we found out later in the day as a few heavy showers threatened the racing again.

1st race 4th - 38 points
2nd race 3rd - 40 points
3rd race 3rd - 40 points

3rd out of 30 racing - 118 points in total.

GREAT DAYS RACING

33rd EVENT.
13/6/04

NEMXC Round (4)
Wooley Grange, Tow Law.
Finally after some great weather we were back at Towlaw and at long last it was dry.
After the previous two club rounds that were held here all competitors seemed happy to see the sunny clear sky on Sunday morning. the track looked good thanks to some great work midweek by the clubs committee and a large mechanical digger.
The races were run with the bigger bikes first out and the smaller bikes going out last

1st race 2nd - 42 points - Holeshot! Dust was a problem for all riders in all classes after the practise sessions had finished and the racing got underway even though up to 10 or more bowsers of water had been sprayed over the worst parts of the track during the morning.
It seems that a lack of watering on Saturday night which was beyond the control of the club was the main cause of the dust.

2nd race 2nd - 42 points - Holeshot! Again dust was a big problem with near zero visability on some parts of the track.
3rd race - No 3rd race, Event Cancelled for the safety of all riders and Marshals due to the dust, lack of visability and water.
Good decision by the club ,after all safety should be the order of the day for all riders.

2nd out of 25 racing - 84 points in total.

Some hard racing and close battling with Tom Miller and Lewis scott on both days great racing, Tom took 3rd in the supports.

1st race 18th - 23 points

30TH EVENT.
23/5/04

West Cumbria M.C. Dean cross, Lamplugh, Cumbria Round (1)
This was the re-run of this new clubs first event after the last was cancelled due to the weather.
We and I am sure many of the riders who rode today would like to congratulate the organisers and officials on a well presented paddock, track and the overall professionalism of the event.
I Think the only negative comments i heard all day was that the track is too fast and could benefit from a few more jumps, table tops and possibly a whoops section to make it a bit more technical and safer for the smaller bikes.
Other than these comments the rest were positive and full of praise.

1st race 13th - 28 points.
Michael had an off down the back of the track due to rear brake failure and his bike was ran over by at least 4 riders resulting in his rear disc being bent badly and rear brake reservoir damaged ,cracked feed pipe thus losing all fluid.
Big tnx to Jason James and his father for lending us a disc and also Keith Farrell,Tony Parker,Trevor and Darren Brown also Ryan Greggs father for all being the the best and pulling together so we could finish the event.
BIG THANK YOU TO YOU ALL i owe you all one :)

2nd race 4th - 38 points.
3rd race 4th - 38 points.

6th out of 20 racing - 104 points in total.

Low Gelt, Brampton. Round (3)
Well its been another good weekends racing at Low Gelt.and the competition was tough with roughly 7 National riders using the meeting as a practise for the forth coming two day Nationals event which is to be held here on the 5th and 6th of June.
The weather was great again with a some what cloudy saturday and a very sunny sunday.
so the order of the day was Dust and lots of it.
the track was watered but not enough to keep the dust at bay.

1st race 13th - 27 points. Hmm not a good start to the days racing,Michael just wasnt in the right frame of mind and fell off 5 times in this race.
2nd race 6th - 35 points. now i have got him to focus and use his head and think about his lines and places to pass also his starts as he kept lifting the front wheel to much.
3rd race 6th - 35 points.Well a better start from the gates saw michael up with the faster riders again and he rode better i thought, he had a great battle with 3 riders with whom he was close in the points, Tom Moore,Ryan Small and Lewis Scott.

7th out of 38 racing 97 points in total.

Big UP TO Daniel Hutchinson on Taking all 3 wins.

Wooley Grange, Tow Law.
(Muddy Grange revisited) The Paddock area was of great concern and again the towlaw weather curse came into play along with the tractors.
Some riders made it in under their own steam but many were at the mercy of the tractors.

1st race 2nd - 42 points Had a big off over first jump and bounced well, was very lucky but was in last place when i got back on bike so i had to chase hard, i managed to get back up to second.
2nd race 2nd - 42 points - Holeshot!
3rd race 2nd - 42 points My start gate failed to drop and all the other riders were gone i was last again, Dam it i thought eventually a marshal dropped the gate and of i set on a mission again to catch the pack, which i did and managed to get back up to second place.
